This website is proud to have been asked to help with the production of two seperate documentaries for the BBC. 2007 is a special year for Canberra, as it marks ten years since her retirement. What better way to celebrate than to see her in all her glory on the small screen...
Belfast-based media company About Face Media are currently doing pre-production research for new three-part documentary series for BBC Northern Ireland.
The series, entitled "Ships That Changed The World", will focus on vessels built by Harland & Wolff that played significant roles in the First and Second World Wars, and the Falklands.
Part three of the series will feature Canberra quite extensively, and About Face want to interview former crew members for the programme, particularly those who worked on board during her very early years, and those who were on board during the Falklands conflict.
Time is of the essence. About Face are looking to start actual production in early February, so if you think you may be able to contribute something, please get in contact with them as soon as possible.
Southampton-based Topical Television are currently producing a programme for BBC South to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Falklands War.
Schedule to air in April, the programme will try to revisit some of the people interviewed 25 years ago.
They are looking to contact anyone who was on Canberra during the Falklands War, preferably from the BBC South region, however, they would be pleased to hear from anyone who thinks they might be able to help.
Please get in contact with them if you have a story to tell.
